I am a pediatric ER doc and a mom. Cooking has always been a stress reliever for me and, as you can imagine, I cook a lot. I dabbled in canning a little when I was in medical school in the early '90's but didn't get back to it until a few years ago. After starting with a few easy jams, I've progressed to a frenzy of pick-your-own outings, gardening (with limited success), and trolling the farmers' markets for interesting ingredients. I've become enamored with our farm share which introduced new foods to us almost every week in the summer to eat or preserve, allowing for some creative cooking!
